Steel Wolverines: Modern Armored Combat (PC) — First Look & Gameplay

Modern armor, done at the sharp end. Steel Wolverines: Modern Armored Combat is a PC tactical wargame I checked out via its Steam Next Fest demo, and I dropped straight into the “Vanguard” scenario to see how it handles.

NATO steel in Lithuania

The scenario puts you in command of a joint NATO battle group — Polish and German forces fielding K2 Black Panthers, Borsuk IFVs, and Leopard 2A8s — fighting in Lithuania. That’s a very current, very specific slice of modern armored warfare, and the hardware-nerd in me appreciates a game that bothers to model it properly. First look and full-scenario play here; the question for any modern tactical title is whether the systems reward real combined-arms thinking or just reward the bigger gun.
