Dungeons & Dynasties (PC) — First Look

Dungeons and Dynasties PC management RPG first look

Sometimes a pitch does all the work: Dungeons & Dynasties is billed as “Football Manager meets D&D,” an indie management RPG where you found and run an adventuring guild rather than swing the sword yourself. I took the Steam Next Fest demo for a spin.

Running the guild

In the demo I establish a guild — “The Hollow Creed” — and get into the meat of it: managing delver rosters, their relationships, and the business of sending adventurers off to do the dangerous work. The management-sim-of-a-fantasy-world angle is a fun inversion, and if the systems have enough depth it could scratch the same itch as a good sports-management game with a sword-and-sorcery coat of paint. Early impressions here; worth a look if that premise grabs you the way it grabbed me.
